Kappa Phi Lambda is an Asian-interest but not Asian-exclusive sorority grounded in the three pillars of sisterhood, service, and cultural diversity. The Psi Chapter of Kappa Phi Lambda at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign was founded on November 12, 2006. Our sisterhood is represented at 30 different university campuses with over 4,000+ sisters nationwide. There's no sisterhood like the Kappa sisterhood!

Kappas will not only become a support group to guide you through through this chapter of your life, but what's better than creating unforgettable memories with sisters while being involved on campus through our service, philanthropy, and cultural events?
LIFETIME FRIENDSHIPS, ONE SISTERHOOD
Joining Kappas connects you to a diverse and unique group of girls that all look to create everlasting bonds and friendships. We even have sisterhood chairs that create events for sisters to just hang out together and relax when we're not studying for our classes. Many of our sisters become each others' roommates, lifelong friends after graduation, and even each others' bridesmaids!

Being a part of Kappas is more than just joining a sorority. We believe that each of our sister's top priorities is their education and we motivate one another to do well in our academics. As an out of state student, I rushed with the intention of finding a community that not only aligned with my values but also fostered my personal and professional growth. Kappas gave me that and more. Being surrounded by such genuine, loving sisters allowed me to open up and express myself in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I am forever grateful for the heartfelt memories, long lasting bonds, and endless opportunities that Kappas has given me.

I rushed Kappas in hopes to find a community that could support and guide me throughout college. Since then, I have found a network of people that show me unconditional support, both within and beyond the organization. Being a part of Kappas has not only provided me with a sense of belonging within such a large school, but it has also contributed to my personal and academic growth. The organization’s emphasis on academic excellence and numerous leadership opportunities that have helped me step outside my comfort zone and develop my professionalism. Additionally, connecting with sisters who share similar career aspirations has been very valuable to me, as their advice and mentorship has encouraged me to take advantage of all the opportunities that college has to offer. Joining Kappas has truly been one of the most rewarding experiences of my college career, and I am forever grateful to be a part of this sisterhood.
